Practitioner Services - Enabling Primary Care

Introduction

As a national support organisation, Practitioner Services' priority is to provide excellent customer focused services. Feedback from our various customer surveys and meetings with stakeholders indicates that in the main we are delivering on this priority. However, we recognise that there is always room for improvement and, therefore, throughout the last year we have placed a particular focus on quality improvement. This has taken a number of forms, for example the introduction of formal reviews with NHS Boards and ongoing development under the European Framework for Quality Management (EFQM).

We, like the rest of NHSScotland celebrated the 60th anniversary of the NHS and reflected on the valuable contribution that our staff make to enabling the provision of primary care services in Scotland. The fact that we continue to meet our targets and provide a high quality service to our stakeholders is testament to the dedication and commitment of all our staff.

Although our main activity is payment and registration services, you will hopefully get a feel from this Annual Report of the range of additional activities that we are also involved in.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those customers and stakeholders who willingly work with us on various groups connected to our work.
