Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Allowance

What is Continuing Professional Development Allowance?

This is for dentists who have undertaken a post-graduate course approved by NHS Education for Scotland. CPD allowances are available to all dentists included on a dental list.

How do I claim for Continuing Professional Development Allowance?

You can obtain a copy of the GP214 claim form from your nearest NHS Education for Scotland Postgraduate Centre. Payments are abated, dependant on NHS percentage, and a maximum of 6 full sessions are paid per year.

Criteria:

1) Name on a dental list; and
2) earnings of at least £27,800.00 or NHS percentage of 90%.

*Additional payments apply: maximum additional payment for remote island dentist = £2,773.20; maximum additional payment for remote mainland dentist = £1,386.60
