What is Sedation Practice Allowance?
This allowance was created to remunerate dentists for carrying out conscious sedation treatments for anxious patients. Practices offering this service are subject to a sedation practice inspection and must work to agreed standards and conditions.
How do I claim for Sedation Practice Allowance?

NHS Board.

Relative analgesia £3000.00 per year; intravenous sedation £2000.00 per year |
Criteria:
1) Practice undertook in the year prior to the claim at least 40 sedation
treatments, of which at least 30 must be intravenous;
2) practice has been satisfactorily inspected within the 3 years prior to the claim;
3) only one allowance is payable. If both treatments used, £3000.00 is payable if
at least 20 relative analgesic treatments are carried out, and £2000.00 is
payable if less than 20 relative analgesic treatments are carried out; and
4) claim must be submitted to Practitioner Services by the end of the financial year you are making the claim in, for example by 31 March. |
