In addition to payments relating to general ophthalmic service (GOS) claim forms, we also make other payments you may be eligible for:
Continuing Education and Training (CET) Allowance
Application forms and details of entitlement are sent out to all registered opticians once a year, in the form of a circular. This is sent to you by your NHS Board on behalf of the Scottish Government Health and Social Care Directorates. This grant is paid in respect of CET undertaken in the previous calendar year.
Pre-Registration Training Grant
If you are supervising a pre-registration trainee in your practice, you will be entitled to claim this grant. The current annual payment is £3015 and is paid in two instalments (around February and June).
Complete an application form and submit it to us for the attention of the ophthalmic team.
