No, Since 1st April 2004, Practitioner Services have been processing and paying Prescription charge refunds directly to patients on receipt of a correctly completed HCS(R) form.
The Pharmacist should complete part A of the HCS( R) prescription refund claim form and give it to the patient, along with a pre-paid envelope addressed to:
Practitioner Services (Pharmacy Repayments),
Gyle Square,
1 South Gyle Crescent,
Edinburgh, EH12 9EB.
Advise the patient to complete the back of the form by marking the appropriate category of exemption and signing the form.
On receipt of HCS(R) claim form, Practitioner services will process the refund to the patient by issue of a cheque.
